When watching videos from Vimeo, I came across this lovely short film, which was shot using an Arriflex 235 camera on Kodak. It clearly illustrates emotions and immediately effects the audience in a short period of time, just in 1 minute 20 seconds. This short film is based on Tennyson verse and is produced by John X. Carey. The beginning scene has inspired me the most as we could see close up shot of characters' feet, two of them walking and back to another extreme close up of their hands. There is an effective use of non-diegetic sound(the girl laughing) appears to seem like diegetic. It instantly reveals the genre and shows that the film is about love and they are the main characters of the film. I thought that it would be a very good opening to our trailer with quick cuts.
Also, I love the way they used sound and visual effects of the thunder and the plane, because the audience could sense that this is the turning point of the scene from very loved up couple to darkness and mystery.
